In June 2023, I had the exciting challenge of organising the third edition of Intrum’s Datathon, a hackathon designed to leverage data for solutions that promote financial well-being. The event focused on creating tools, services, or products to improve data quality, enhance user experience, or prevent payment defaults. With just two weeks between the event’s announcement and execution, I successfully secured 50 participants, including data scientists, postgraduate researchers, and startup teams, eager to tackle this ambitious challenge.
A key feature of the Datathon was the involvement of Intrum employees as mentors, aligning with one of our Employee Experience programs. This approach not only enhanced the event by bringing internal expertise to the participants but also provided a platform for our employees to develop their mentoring and leadership skills. By sharing their knowledge and guiding external teams, our mentors expanded their own professional growth while contributing to the success of the event.
The Datathon not only showcased innovation and collaboration among external participants but also had a significant internal impact, reinforcing Intrum’s commitment to employee development. The enthusiasm of the participants, the creativity of the solutions presented, and the positive feedback from both mentors and attendees made this event a standout achievement in my career. It demonstrated my ability to design and deliver events that drive innovation while creating meaningful opportunities for internal engagement and growth.
